I am totally obsessed with these pants! They are kind of I-Dream-of-Jeanne ish and they are so much fun! I wear them with the Pivoinne(above) and gladiator sandals(for as long as I can before my toes start freezing!). Who says keeping warm has to look un-stylish?

Barre3 Grand Opening

Yesterday was the glorious grand opening of Barre3. The creator, Sadie Lincoln, looked oh-so-fabulous in a House of Hengst silk dress she picked at Parallel. So, I had to take a picture with her:).

About Barre3:

Develop the length of a dancer and the strength of an athlete in this highly effective 60-minute workout. This class uses the ballet barre to improve posture and core strength while supporting precise movement designed to lengthen and lift the whole body. Proper alignment and form is emphasized with attention to the success of each client.

I think we all need some Barre3:)

Check out her website www.barre3.com for more info

A Peace Treaty

We are one of the few select stores in Portland to carry this new line. A Peace Treaty combines global awareness through its designs and creates employment for skilled artisans working in places of socio-political strife. Each collection, focuses on a particular region and accessory, is comprised of a small selection of limited edition pieces.

Makr wallets

Makr is an appreciation of the simple, the durable and the timelessness of thoughtful design. A vision of the useful as artful—and the opportunity to apply that principle to the everyday. All products blend the tradition of handcraft with the contemporary. Materials are carefully selected and every item is designed, patterned and cut in house. Pieces are produced in small quantities by an even smaller group of people, and all assembly is done by family-owned companies within the U.S.

-- Jason Gregory

Parallel is very excited to welcome Makr to Portland. Thanks to Makr for their true artisan work and compassion. Each well crafted piece comes in its own hand stamped box. Belts and handbags to come soon.
Wallets retail for $75-145.

Dear Cashmere Fall 08

You asked for more Dear Cashmere and we delivered! I was told that Dear Cashmere clients would be very loyal, but I had no idea! This orange cowl neck goes great over jeans or dressed up. It is a very easy and beautiful piece!

Side ruching detail and assymetrical hem. I can see it with tights and boots for fall!
