A Fantastic World Created by Chiho Aoshima

In the Pacific Northwest and need something to do...check out Chiho Aoshima: Rebirth of the World Exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum.

Chiho Aoshima is an Japanese pop artist who is influenced by anime and manga cartoons. She seeks to explore the dark currents lying beneath Japanese pop imagery. She states that "My work feels like strands of my thoughts that have flown around the universe before coming back to materialize."

Chiho Aoshima: Rebirth of the World Exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum allows you to step into her world. Asking questions, "who's to say that as technology advances, as natural disasters rise, as the organic world blends with the man-made, that smart phones will not become smart buildings?"
